Business Model:              This client is an online retail store that specialises in multiple 
product categories. Their customer base comprises a wide demographic.  
 
The Requirement:           Complete website design including operational custom programming requirements:
 
·   Navigation and product categories to appear in a clear and concise manner.

·   Sophisticated product searches required by keyword, subcategory, brand, dollar range.

·  Buyers Guide Module: Knowledge based buying guides.

·  Shipping and Freight module

·  An automated integration with MyWorkSpace (a third party accounting system)

 
User Interface                  ·  The brief was to provide a user friendly website interface for purchasers and
prospective businesses to quickly and efficiently search for product information. A major requirement of the site was to offer accessible and relevant product information.

Interface                           ·  The brief was to provide the company with a comprehensive and
automated system that allowed for:
 
 ·  Administering the entire e commerce operations of the website, online ordering system, and website communications to interface with MyWorkSpace.
 
 ·  The MyWorkspace interface: included data forwarding to the MyWorkSpace CRM which included all website transactions, registered customer details submitted through the e commerce facility, website account creation, e News subscriptions and enquiry forms submitted will be forwarded to the MyWorkSpace CRM via a SOAP server XML file request. An automated process whenever a new account is created and submitted.
 
 ·  The interface between the Ecommerce website (customized Zulu IES System) and MyWorkspace is governed by the following rules:
 
·   For key product data, MyWorkspace is the primary data source.
·   All other product & customer data is maintained by the Ecommerce/Zulu IES system.
 
·  If any of the key product data needs to be changed, it must be changed on MyWorkspace and then the Ecommerce administrator must retrieve the new or updated key product data using one of the following methods:
 
·  Automatically via a cronjob
·  Manually by going to the MyWorkspace interface in the Ecommerce website and requesting New Product data
 
·  When the key product data is retrieved it becomes viewable within the Ecommerce website and can be prepared for display on the website.
 
·  When a product is ordered the Ecommerce website generates an order email for the purchaser and then relays the order information to MyWorkspace. This process is automated. In summary the process is as follows:
